By Francine Silverman

I’m hooked on the Internet, even though sitting at the computer too long kills my back. As on an on-line publicist, compiler of 16 ebooks of talk radio shows, and editor of an ezine, Book Promotion Newsletter, I am forever searching for radio shows for my clients and ebooks and new material for my newsletter.
Needless to say, I send out more emails than I receive. The result is I am always waiting for responses from radio hosts who may have expressed interest in a client but have not followed through, clients who have not responded to a radio host’s interest in them, or from radio hosts to whom I have sent questionnaires for my ebooks.
This creates agita but I have to remember that not everyone is glued to the computer like I am. When the aches in my back become too painful, I close down the machine and wonder how I will amuse myself off-line. I’ve discovered that going through my file cabinets and old emails has been a Godsend.
Recently I had the idea to send the bios of my new clients to hosts in my ebooks and I’ve had a modicum of success.
But when I first pulled an email from May 10, 2011 from a host in my New Age ebook andI sent him the bio of my new psychic author, he responded the same day with “WOW is about all I can say. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bio that long or that full.” Shortly after, he invited my client on his show.
I found another email from May 27, 2011 from a host whose show is in my travel, authors, entertainment and parenting ebooks. When I first pitched him, he had asked for bios of my top 10 authors. His guests are eclectic so I sent him the impressive bio of my new business author and he wrote back that ‘We definitely” want her on the show.
Finally, in looking over the shows in my ebook, I realized that I finally have a client who matches the needs of a host of a show about child abuse. I sent him her bio and, voila, he contacted her and booked a date for an interview. He also called me and, after speaking with him for a while, invited him to be guest on my radio show, Fraternizing with Fran.
Admittedly, these are what I call “responsive” hosts. Where they once responded in the affirmative, they did so again. It was just that I had forgotten about them until I opened my file cabinet.

In a previous article, I presented all the Internet stations I am aware of. Now I am presenting some of the terrestrial (on air) stations that are in my book, Talk Radio Wants You, and in one or more of my 16 ebooks of talk radio shows. The categories in parentheses represent the ebooks where that station is listed. Bear in mind that one show may cover two categories, such as a food show may go into both the health and environment ebooks. Also, don’t be fooled by the limited categories. The station may air many more categories – these only reflect the hosts that responded to my questionnaires.
