Boost Your Spirit With Exercise!
Question:
I am 28 years old and I would like to have a regular exercise routine. I tried everything and nothing worked. Kindly advise how I can maintain an exercise routine while I work.
Answer:Exercise is a tedious task for those who are not accustomed to physical activity. Your exercise spirit undergoes many changes. Actually, it's all in your head. Your exercise spirit depends on what your aim is. If you are opting for the activity for a short-term period, you are bound to lose interest as soon as you achieve your aim but if your aim targets on acquiring a healthy equilibrium between your body, mind, and soul, your chances of sticking to your exercise schedule increases. According to my observations, clients who had long-term commitment to a goal did much better in having a regular exercise routine than those with a short or no commitment.
To boost your exercise spirit, focus on a long-term goal, a realistic one. If you are just starting out on an exercise regimen, do it continuously for 21 days with a day gap for rest every week. This will make your body accustom to exercise.
Focus on yourself: You are exercising for yourself and YOU are bound to benefit from the consequences. Therefore, exercise for yourself and NOT others.
Have an exercise partner with you: It helps to have an exercise partner as both of you share the same goal that leads to motivation and encouragement.
Let your favorite music be a part of your exercise: Surprisingly, you never know how time passes when you have your walkman/player with your favorite music. As much as I know, a single song is about five minute long and so, if you are listening to ten songs while exercising, you exercise for 50 minutes with enjoyment!
Have a proper schedule: If you can't exercise in the morning, make a weekly schedule where three alternate days of the week should have a 30-minute exercise routine in the evenings.
Exercising keeps excess weight, blood pressure and cholesterol increase at bay. If you think you can get away with an excuse from exercise, you should think again. No body escapes from the exercise regimen if your long-term goal directs to have a healthy long life…
